We need to realize that God saved us so that we might live sent. If we believe the words of Jesus, then we must believe that there is a kingdom prepared that is not of this world. That kingdom is only accessed through salvation in Jesus Christ, a salvation that is granted when we call on the name of Jesus. “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?”

For further consideration: What happens in ministry if we fail to make time to just be with Jesus? What is the value of investing in the lives of others? What effect can the constant pressure of meeting the needs of others have on us? What do the people in your ministry area require of you? Why is it amazing that Matthew and Simon served together and what lessons can we learn about the gospel’s ability to bring contrary people together? Which do you think is more demanding, trying to please people or trying to please God? Which do you think is more tiring? More rewarding
