The founder of the Inland China Mission, J. Hudson Taylor, used to hang in his home a plaque with two Hebrew words: Ebenezer and Jehovah-Jireh. Ebenezer means Stone of Help and recognizes that in everything up to this point the Lord has helped us. Jehovah-Jireh means the Lord will see to it and recognizes that from this point forward the Lord will provide. Either way, whether we look back or ahead, we recognize that the Lord is at work and we have nothing to fear.
