“We focus on what is without doubt the most noble and loftiest of themes: the nature and
character of God.” –Selwyn Hughes

And yet, we find ourselves in this generation more preoccupied with self than with God, more
concerned about preserving creation than knowing the Creator, and more anxious about losing
freedom in our governance than about living in our freedom in Christ. We would do well to
consider the implications of the Bible’s opening words. The Bible begins not with man
establishing his place in the creative order, but with God creating and establishing and ordering
all that exists.
