When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, He became our restitution offering. Everything we ever owed because of our sin, and then some, was paid for at the cross. When we put our faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross, we are forgiven. The guilty status is removed. We no longer have to hold on to guilty feelings that enslave us and paralyze us with fear. For freedom, Christ has set us free.
