In our salvation, Jesus calls us to action. Just like his first followers, we too must rise and follow.
Only then will our faith, as it is exercised, become what God intended it to be—a perfecting,
maturing connection to Him. Lots of people say they believe. But how many back those beliefs
up with godly action? Let’s make sure there is no disconnect in our lives; we must be people of
genuine faith. And genuine faith works!

Reflection

Consider the question: Is Jesus my Savior? Or is Jesus my Lord? Remember back to your
conversion experience and celebrate the fact that Jesus is your Savior. Take some time to
evaluate how you are working out that salvation. What evidence in your everyday life is there
that would indicate an inner change and desire to live for Jesus? What does it look like to you to
“take up your cross daily” to follow Jesus?
