Because of Christ’s sacrifice, sin can always be forgiven. But we can’t always undo the damage caused when we freely walk into sin. Sin is a plague that by its very nature, destroys. It whispers a promised joy, but that is a lie that leads to our destruction. John Owen once said, “Be killing sin, or it will be killing you.” The good news is that Christ has killed sin and death for us, and by faith in His finished work, we receive is power to kill sin in us.
