Our works neither save us nor keep us saved. Only Christ can save us. Only Christ can keep us saved. We simply hold on to our confidence and retain our boast in the finished work of Christ. We do not boast in ourselves or our spiritual achievements. We boast in the cross and in the hope of resurrection. By faith, we confidently trust that Christ’s righteousness belongs to us and is sufficient for us to stand before a holy God. We consider Jesus because Jesus is our only boast. Jesus is our unfailing hope.

For further consideration:
How does the description “holy brethren” inform how we should live, both in the context of the church and in the world? When you think of church, do you think of it as a place to go or as a family to which you belong? What is the significance of Jesus being a High Priest for us? What do you think holiness looks like in the life of a New Testament believer? The world urges us to consider anything else besides Jesus. What are the most prominent things in your life that the world urges you to consider instead of Jesus? How does considering Jesus and meditating on His work aid and fuel faithfulness? In light of the way Moses is described as a faithful servant, in what specific ways are we to serve Christ?
