The Word of God is the life of God’s people, just as God is our life, for the word communicates to us the truth about God and His gracious blessings. To receive and obey the Word is to share in the life of God. “For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life.” Or as the writer of Hebrews says in 4:12, “For the word of God is living and powerful.” So when we sing, let’s sing the wondrous love of Jesus, sing His mercy and His grace, because in the mansions bright and blessed He’ll prepare for us a place.
