Our effectiveness in advancing the kingdom will be determined by how much we depend on our
message. When Jesus’ story becomes real in our lives, it is perhaps the only thing that is
unshakeable. When it comes to the gospel we can be certain that the message entrusted to us is
true. We not only bet our lives on it, we stake our eternal destiny on it.

For further consideration:

What are some things that have the potential to make us doubt what we say we believe? What
are some ways that you are able to overcome doubt and fear when it begins to affect your
relationship with Christ? Name some of the different groups that were involved in the betrayal
and murder of Jesus. How does our sin contribute to the necessity of Jesus’ crucifixion? When
skeptics claim that the disciples made up the idea of Jesus rising from the dead, how does this
text argue against that claim? What can you do this week that will help you set your mind on
things above? How will you find the strength to look past your suffering and live for the glory of
Jesus in the midst of it?
