Consistency in Giving

by Mike Tatem

Summer is here and the Parkview family has already begun its travels. Some of us are traveling to conventions, some on mission trips , and others will enjoy some well-deserved time away. While we are bouncing in and out of town, it is always good to remember that the work of the kingdom and our mission to make disciples continues even through the summer.

Our offices are still open to meet the needs of our community and our faith family. We still gather on Sundays and Wednesdays for worship. While operating on a slightly scaled back schedule, we will still use our campus for open gym basketball, church adult volleyball, senior adult lunches, community events, Vacation Bible School and so much more. Overall our operations change very little and neither do the financial requirements for ongoing operations.

When you give to Parkview, you are giving to support kingdom work here in Lake City, and as we pass along a portion of your gifts to the Cooperative Program, you support missionary work through the Florida Baptist Convention, North American Mission Board, and International Mission Board. We need our church family to continue giving consistently through the summer so that we might consistently do the work that God has called us to do.

There are at least three ways to give. First. If you are in town, then we encourage you to gather with us every Sunday at 9:45 or 11:00. Giving is an act of worship that is designed to help us place our trust in God so we incorporate giving into our worship services. When you are here, naturally, you can simply give in person by placing your offering in the offering plate when it comes by or in the offering box located at the welcome desk.

You can also mail your offering to us. One of the easiest ways to do that is to use your bank’s bill pay system. If you are comfortable with the process, you can set up Parkview as a vendor and then send payments to Parkview directly through your bank. Most bill pay systems allow you to set up recurring payments so whether you are in town or not, your gift to Parkview will arrive on a regular basis and be used for its intended purposes.

Finally, you can use our website to give online. The first time you use it, you will create an account. From there, you can make a one-time payment or set up recurring payments through you credit or debit card. You can even make special contributions to help reduce our building debt.  Here is the link to Parkview’s online giving page:

Remember, we give back a portion of what already belongs to God. We have freedom in Christ to decide how much of God’s money it will take for us to live; the rest we invest in the kingdom. I hope that you will consider being consistent (if you haven't been already) in your giving this summer even though you may have to be inconsistent in your attendance. We trust that you will enjoy your time away even more knowing that the work of making disciples continues.
