We can convince ourselves that what we are doing is right and justifiable, though it actually may be wrong and sinful. This sad, but true fact shows the deception we practice on ourselves. Half-hearted surrender of life to Christ and Sunday rituals are not enough. True sensibility comes from knowing Christ and making Him known.

Why is it so difficult to separate spiritual realities from physical realities? What decisions have you made recently where you have relied solely on information based on the physical realm? How might your decision have been influenced in a different direction had you approached it from a spiritual perspective? Which reality is having a greater impact on your worldview? For instance, what drives your response in discussions about the sanctity of life or the sanctity of marriage, biblical reality or cultural reality? What do you see influencing your children or grandchildren, and what must happen to make sure that their worldview is being developed through the lens of Scripture?
