The end-time reward of wisdom is far greater than ill-gotten riches that shimmer and fade and ultimately destroy. Yes, some people are dishonest and live large while others are righteous and have nothing. We are simply called to wait on the Lord knowing that in the end, justice will come, and we will be vindicated. Sometimes He makes things right in three days. Sometimes it takes longer, but we know God is faithful. On Friday, Jesus died as a common thief. But on Sunday He rose a King. That is the story of Christ, and it is our story if we believe.

Reflection
Why is it easy for us to think that greed is only a problem for the rich? While we will probably not be tempted to join a gang and murder someone for their money, what are some ways that we are tempted to get money and things the wrong way? What are some ways that believers individually and the church corporately have been influenced and possibly enslaved by the American Dream? What is the ultimate goal of wisdom—to live a good life or to know Jesus?
