Built into the gospel is the idea that suffering may come for the sake of following Jesus. We identify in our baptism with His death, burial, and resurrection. That last part reminds us that build into that same gospel is the promise of victory. We will only receive assurances of this promise in the context of worship where we are continually reminded that Christ stands among and within His church.
