We have a choice in the way we live, but if we try to keep the choice between wisdom and folly within the realm of our human ability, then we will live in frustration and disappointment because wisdom doesn’t start with our choice to be good. Wisdom starts with our choice to follow Jesus.

Reflection
How does the gospel turn our hearts towards righteousness? Can our hearts be turned towards righteousness apart from the gospel? What is the interaction between the mind and the heart when it comes to the choices we must make? If you surveyed the gospels, what do you think is the priority of the gospel, a transformed heart or a modification in behavior? If both, then how do these two outcomes interact with each other and which, if any, takes precedence? What areas of your life could be seen as walking in foolishness and what needs to happen to learn to live the gospel life in these areas?
