The church doesn’t change. The church is simply made up of those who have been regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit because they have placed their trust in the finished work of Christ and His cross. The church is the body of Christ made up of Christ-followers. The way the church gathers and what the church does when it gathers, changes. The gospel that we celebrate never changes. But the way we celebrate is as creative as God created us to be.

For further consideration: Why is Christ’s priesthood more perfect than other priesthoods? How does His divine nature play into His perfection? What does it mean that Christ is now, through His perfect work, the sufficient priest who mediates between God and man? How is His final act of atonement superior to the Mosaic Law? What makes the concept of legalism and performance-based righteousness so enticing? How was the Old Testament law profitable and strong? How was it unprofitable and weak? Why is the indestructible life of Christ so important to His work and how might His eternal ministry encourage us as Christians? How does the threefold office of Prophet, Priest, and King demonstrate Christ’s superiority and perfection
