Even though the world may make raising a family or doing a particular job or living a Christian life seem impossible, God will vindicate those who are faithful. We don’t give up or else our surrender to the world will be our legacy. Instead, we push forward trusting in the goodness of God and we live our lives in such a way that the world around us knows that we are citizens of a kingdom that is not of this world. We act with integrity and resolve and allow the goodness of God to finish what He started in us.

For further consideration: Which do you think is harder, dying for Jesus once or living radically for Jesus each and every day? Why did Herod fear John, and why was he tormented after his death? What are some right reasons that non-believers should fear believers. What are some bad ways that Christians cause fear and loathing in society? Is there a person or leader that you fear more than God? Are you tempted to protect your own reputation rather than honoring God? Take some time to think about your life and future legacy as you consider that verse from Hebrews 11:4, “even though he is dead, he still speaks through his faith.
