Like the prophet, believers still lament over the woes and the devastation created by sin. But there are reasons to be encouraged. The people of God know that the final and ultimate victory will come to those who worship God. We live in the now and not yet reality of God’s kingdom, torn between the city of man and the city of God. The truth that one day the city of man will no longer exist should give us hearts for the mission mandate entrusted to us. God reveals His plans to destroy the world so that we will work with urgency for the glory of His kingdom.
