The gospel doesn’t promise an easy life. God forgives, but we still must face the consequences of our own actions and deal with the difficulties of living in a fallen world. The gospel does promise that the presence of God will be with us and that we can depend on Him. In His providence, God will never waste a trial. He can and will use even our poor choices for His glory and the glory of His kingdom.
