Revelation was written to comfort the Church in its struggle against the forces of evil. The promise of glory is being revealed to offer comfort to persecuted and suffering Christians. We know from Revelation that God sees our tears, our prayers are influential in world affairs, and even our deaths are precious in His sight. Christ rules and reigns in the interests of His Church, and He invites us through His cross and through His suffering to rule and reign with Him in the new universe that is to come.
