Satan wants to use circumstances, people, and possessions to tempt us and bring out the worst in us, but God wants to use them to test us and bring out the best in us. 1 John 5:4-5 says, “For whatever is born of God (even those things that test us) overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”
